Route Description

Start from the A838 road 0.5km north of Achfary at the bridge over the river flowing into Loch Stack. Go along the private road past Airdachuilinn to Lone cottage and continue E on the path up the grassy glen of Srath Luib na Seilich to reach the Bealach na Feithe (450m). Descend due E on the far side of this pass and reach a track which leads to Gobernuisgach Lodge at the foot of Glen Golly. From there a private road leads in a further 3km to the road in Strath More between Loch Hope and Altnaharra. The latter is the nearest hostelry, but it is 15km away.

Heritage Information

The OS 6" mapping of Sutherland (surveyed 1873-75) shows this route in its entirety. Allnabad at the eastern end is named as Druimandroinn.  It doesn't appear in Haldane's The Drove Roads of Scotland but it is mentioned in ScotWays' records as having been a drove road.
