Route Description

From Kirkmichael take the private road on the west side of the River Ardle past Tullochcurran and Loch Cottage to Dalreoch. Cross the river to Enochdhu and continue NW along the A924 road for 2km, then turn right and go N by Glenfernate Lodge up Gleann Fearnach for 7km to Daldhu. From Daldhu is to go N along the private road to Fealar Lodge and then descend from the lodge to Glen Tilt, reaching it near the Falls of Tarf.

Heritage Information

This old road is another track drovers took to get their cattle to the Tryst at Kirkmichael, which was said to be one of the biggest in Scotland in the middle of the 18th century.

It was mapped by Roy in his Military Survey 1747-55 and so must have been a well used route at the time.
