Route DescriptionHead south from near Carterhouse Farm by an old road to the disused quarry and then a forestry road which ascends to the Border at Carter Fell. Beyond the border, continue south to Limestone Knowe (549m). From there go by the march fence by Grey Mare's Knowe, then descend due south to Kielder Head and south-west by a good forest road down the Kielder Burn to Kielder Village.
Forestry has affected this route; walking it may necessitate possibly something more than determination. Some of the forest roads can no longer be described even as footpaths. Map and compass will be required. If anyone does try the route, we'd be pleased to receive an update.
