Route Description

Heritage Information

This was the original road from Moffat to Selkirk. Roy's Military Survey map of 1755 names it Road to HawickJohn Ainslie's map of Selkirkshire or Ettrick Forest was surveyed in 1772, and thereon the mileages to Selkirk are given and the pass above Bodesbeck is named Peneracrofs
