Heritage Paths - The Campsie Fells
The Heritage Paths project identifies, researches and promotes historic paths across the whole of Scotland. This website was developed as part of our original three year project (2007-2010). That national project continues, predominantly run by volunteers with support from the ScotWays office. We are also working on a Heritage Paths book. However, from late 2010 to spring 2013, Heritage Paths was funded to focus in and around the Campsie Fells - the Project Area is illustrated in the map below. It is an area that contains a considerable number of historic routes, although many have not been used regularly for a long time. By clicking on the "View Paths" link below, you can see a list of the paths we have discovered in the area so far. Alternatively, a click on the map itself will take you to a larger version of the Project Area map upon which the historic routes are clickable. We've also produced a lovely paper map as part of our Heritage Paths In The Campsie Fells leaflet, so if you'd like one of those send a SAE to us c/o ScotWays. If you have any information about historic routes in the project area, we will be very happy to hear from you. Our website is continually being updated, so please do visit us again.
